The aim of Rose cottage is to provide the nearest possible environment to the residents’ own home with the built in security of being cared for.

Due to the nature and size of the home we can provide one to one stimulus and attention, with choice being the key word.

Our residents are able to make decisions for themselves and are encouraged to do so whether it is choice of meal or where they want to sit. We also encourage an amiable atmosphere for the resident’s families, and friends are welcome, being part of one happy group talking to residents when they visit.

We are very flexible and therefore we can reflect the needs of the residents and staff at Rose cottage due to the size of the home. We also aim to improve the residents and generally make sure they are in an environment that they are happy with.

Residents admitted to our home will be assessed as having needs, which meet the following criteria:

Aged over 65 years
Assessed as requiring residential care and not nursing
Independently mobile or mobile with support from one care member
Not diagnosed as suffering from a dementia related condition or mental health problem

Require some assistance or support with personal care.

All rooms are single and en-suite.

All staff are trained in first aid, manual handling, food hygiene and have attained NVQ level two, risk assessment and health & safety. The manager has many years experience in providing care for the elderly and has also completed the owners and managers course. All of our staff courses are up dated on a regular basis.

There is one carer on duty from 8.00 am – 2.00 pm then 2.00 pm – 9.00 pm.

Then the night staff are on call from 9.00 pm – 8.00 am

We have sleeping night staff at Rose cottage and residents press the call bell if they need assistance.

Rose cottage is a non- smoking care home.

Dogs are not allowed on the premises due to the safety of the residents and also for hygiene reasons and we also have dogs that live at Rose cottage.

We welcome visitors from 9.00 am – until 9.00 pm. We prefer that relatives do not visit at mealtimes and they are the following times 12 noon to 1.00 pm and 5.00 pm – 5.30 pm.

Arrangements can be made for relatives to dine with their relations.

Residents care plans, views and needs are reviewed on a regularly basis with the involvement of the residents, manager and any other person(s) concerned.

Also hobbies, religious needs and interests can be cater for within the home or maybe outside as well.

Our aim at Rose cottage is to conduct the home in a professional manner and keep the unit as homely as possible and friendly but at the same time respect the views of the residents and also their privacy and dignity.
